Physical beauty doesn't remain unchanged; it's temporary. But you can control HOW your beauty fades--whether abruptly or naturally.
Ever wonder why some people never get sick? No colds. No flu. Nothing. Well, it could be that they follow a set of disciplined rules.
Ever wonder why some people never get sick? No colds. No flu. Nothing. Well, it could be that they follow a set of disciplined rules.
- Think five-a-day. It would benefit you to eat five servings of fruits and vegetables every day, however, one is better than none. Guess what: jams and fruit spreads count too.
- Avoid soft drinks. Read labels. You'll find that a typical cola has about 40 milligrams of sugar, which is about a quarter cup!
- Drink green tea. This may be the ultimate health-promoting beverage. It's reported to burn body fat, strengthen the immune system, fight arteriosclerosis, lower cholesterol, prevent bad breath, and gingivitis. It's also said to protect against cancer, heart disease, and other degenerative diseases.
- Fast food? Keep driving. Giving up fast food restaurants will make the biggest difference to your health. There's nothing "good" about eating out. The food is synthetic, and the people preparing it don't care how they handle it.
- Keep snacking. Eating smaller meals and snacks throughout the day helps you avoid big meals with huge portions. Doing so will keep you thin, and you will live longer. What's the point of being beautiful just to die young?
- Read food labels. We do it all the time, but we should never buy a grocery item without reading the ingredient list. The rule is: if you can't pronounce the words, don't eat the product.
- Avoid "partially hydrogenated" stuff. When the label says "partially hydrogenated" it means the contents contain "trans fats", which are worse on you than taking a spoon and eating lard like ice cream. Trans fats are a danger to your heart.
- What is that in your pocket? Don't buy sugary candy or salty chips when you're out. In fact, avoid leaving the house without a "snack-pack," a little antioxidant-filled baggie of walnuts, almonds, raisins, and other dried fruit.
- Artificial sweeteners are over-rated. Medical science concludes they cause headaches, dizziness, vision problems, sleep disorders, memory loss, fetal brain damage, liver problems, seizures, among other things. Artificial sweeteners are particularly harmful to children.
- Get off your butt! It's impossible to remain vibrant and energetic sitting or lying around. You have to move. No. You don't have to run five miles a day or do intense aerobics. Move. Walk in the park. Ride a bike. Dance. Just move.
